Modern Slavery Statement
Movers Ilford Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Movers Ilford to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, ensuring that all individuals associated with our services are treated with dignity and respect.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Movers Ilford has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation, or supplier who is involved in, or connected to, such practices. Our commitment applies to every aspect of our activities, including recruitment, employment, subcontracting, procurement, and the management of third-party relationships.
All employees, agency workers, and contractors are expected to uphold this policy at all times. Breaches of our zero-tolerance policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, and various professional and maintenance services. We expect all suppliers to uphold high standards of human rights, labour practices, and ethical conduct that are consistent with our own values.
We communicate our expectations to suppliers, requiring them to comply with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. Where possible, we seek to work with suppliers who can demonstrate robust policies and procedures to prevent exploitation and to promote safe, fair, and lawful working conditions.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Movers Ilford carries out proportionate due diligence on suppliers, with a particular focus on those operating in higher-risk sectors or regions. As part of this process, we may request information about a supplier’s employment practices, recruitment processes, and compliance with labour laws.
We reserve the right to conduct audits, either directly or through independent parties, to assess compliance with our modern slavery and human rights expectations. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address and rectify issues within a reasonable timeframe. If meaningful improvements are not made, or if serious violations are identified, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Movers Ilford encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through any internal reporting process made available within the company.
We are committed to ensuring that individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith do so without fear of victimisation or retaliation. All reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated where appropriate. Where there is evidence of criminal activity, relevant authorities may be notified.
Training and Awareness
To support effective implementation of this statement, we aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment. Training and guidance may cover recognising signs of exploitation, understanding reporting routes, and applying our zero-tolerance policy in daily decision-making.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Movers Ilford is committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to combat modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement annually, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, business activities, or identified risks. The review will consider the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, supplier engagement, and training initiatives.
Where areas for improvement are identified, we will update our procedures and take appropriate action to strengthen our approach. This statement has been approved by the management of Movers Ilford and reflects our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in all its forms within our business and supply chains.
